Esther’s Story: A Sacred Gift
April 15, 2026
Our Mama Bear Care mamas have stories to share. They hold their babies in their heart, and we have the privilege of showing their hearts to you. Esther had her 12-week ultrasound and found out that her son Isaac had a diagnosis of Trisomy 13. The doctors assured her of the worst. Our community is for mama bears just like Esther, and we are so glad we could come alongside Esther and Isaac in their time of need.
Esther and Isaac’s story finds purpose in the pain. Our babies are a sacred gift touching the lives of those around us. Thank you, Esther, for your openness and willingness to share!

Esther and Isaac’s Story: A Sacred Gift
We received a Full Trisomy 13 diagnosis after anomalous conditions presented themselves in a routine 12-week ultrasound. We were told to expect miscarriage or stillbirth, or that we could expect him to live minutes or hours.
It has completely changed our lives. Isaac’s impact touches our entire family and our immediate community.
Prenatal diagnosis can be an isolating and harrowing journey. The grief and the heartbreak allowed me to see Jesus with more clarity than I ever had before. Our time with Isaac was a sacred gift, and we are far better for having been touched by him.
I came to know about this ministry first through the Facebook group From Diagnosis to Delivery, although I cannot remember how I first learned of it. At the time we received Isaac’s diagnosis, I had never met anyone who had been through a pregnancy with a life-limiting diagnosis. My wonderful doctor was not well-resourced to help us with our specific condition. From Diagnosis to Delivery stepped in to help fill that gap by providing several incredible and helpful resources: Beverly’s book by the same name offered practical ways to navigate my pregnancy, and the community of women I connected with through the Facebook group helped me realize I was not alone. Many of them were willing to share their experiences and offer advice, perspectives, and even birth plans.
